A practical checklist for assessing any mobile tyre fitting provider — coverage, pricing, safety, reviews and more.
Mobile tyre fitting has grown a lot as an industry, and not every provider operates to the same standard. Here's what's genuinely worth checking before you book, whoever you're considering.
A trustworthy provider will tell you plainly whether they cover your location, rather than listing a vague or unrealistically wide area. SFR Motors Ltd operates across Bathgate, Edinburgh, West Lothian and Falkirk — if you're outside that area, we'll say so rather than promise a visit we can't realistically deliver.
You should be able to get a price and a confirmed tyre specification before a fitter sets off, based on your vehicle's registration or the size on your tyre's sidewall — not be told a different figure once they've arrived.
A proper fitter assesses whether a location is actually safe to work in before starting — the angle of the ground, the surface, and whether it's safe to be at the roadside at all. A provider who'll work anywhere regardless of the conditions is a red flag, not a selling point.
Reviews tied to a real, independently hosted business profile (such as Google) are far more meaningful than star ratings you can't trace back to anything, or testimonials only ever shown on the provider's own site.
A real phone number and a straightforward way to get in touch both matter — it should be easy to reach a provider before you book, not just after something's gone wrong.
Fitting, balancing and puncture assessment all need proper equipment, not an improvised setup. A good provider will assess a tyre honestly — telling you when a repair is possible rather than defaulting to a replacement — and will be upfront if a job needs specialist tools they carry, or don't.
A provider should give you a realistic sense of timing based on your actual location and how busy they are, rather than a blanket promise that doesn't hold up in practice.
See our mobile tyre fitting service for what we offer, or get in touch with your location and vehicle details and we'll confirm honestly whether we can help.
