Braking, cornering and simply keeping the car pointing where you steer it all depend on the contact between tyre and road. When that contact is compromised — by low pressure, uneven wear, or damage — every one of those is affected, not just one.
Under- or over-inflated tyres change how a car handles, not just how much fuel it uses. Checking pressure regularly, against the figure in your vehicle's handbook or door-sill sticker, is one of the simplest checks that actually matters.
